What Age Is a Jumperoo For?
Most jumperoos recommend a specific age range for safe use (usually around 6 months), but this may vary by brand and model. What's actually more important is whether your baby has reached the right physical milestones for using a jumperoo.
Before using a jumperoo, most babies should be able to:
Hold their head up steadily
Sit with support
Show good neck and upper body control
Push down through their legs when supported
Both our daughter and son had reached these milestones by 6 months, so we first introduced a jumperoo to them then. If you're unsure, we'd recommend perhaps waiting a little longer until your baby seems more ready.

Some jumperoos, such as the Skip Hop Activity table, are suitable for a wide age range and are among the few that can be used from 4 months through toddlerhood.
When Is a Baby Too Old for a Jumperoo?
Just as important as knowing what age a jumperoo is for is understanding when your baby has outgrown it. Most babies will use a jumperoo until around 10-12 months, though the exact age range is hard to pinpoint because babies reach milestones at different ages.
Your baby is likely too old for a jumperoo if they:
Are pulling themselves up to stand confidently
Can stand unsupported
Are cruising along furniture
Seem frustrated or restricted by the seat
Exceed the maximum weight or height limit set by the manufacturer
By this stage, our little girl was more interested in exploring her surroundings and benefited more from free floor play and pushing along her baby walker.

That being said, she would still cruise around her jumperoo from the outside and play with the activities.
Are Jumperoos Safe?
Jumperoos aren't recommended by the NHS for helping your baby develop their motor skills. This is why some parents worry are jumperoos dangerous, but when used correctly and for short periods, they’re generally considered safe for supervised play. It's important to understand this before you purchase a jumperoo. While they are a fun activity for your little one to play and bounce on, and can be used safely if you follow the guidance, they won't help your baby learn to stand or walk.
If you do use a baby walker, bouncer or seat, it's best to use them for no more than 20 minutes at a time. - NHS Website
Instead, jumperoos should be used for short bursts of play to help prevent your little one from becoming bored, and to give you a quick hands-free moment throughout the day for a quick cuppa.
Are Jumperoos Worth It?
We personally found our Puggle jumperoo a worthwhile investment. The 6-12-month stage is tricky because your little one wants to be on the move (constantly), but doesn't necessarily have the motor skills to do all of this straight away. While we understand that jumperoos do not support development, they helped our baby blow off some steam and gave us a moment to decompress throughout the day, which we think is pretty essential. If you decide to purchase a jumperoo, we recommend following NHS guidance and ensuring you provide your baby with plenty of tummy time and natural movement activities throughout the day.
