SnuzPod 3 Review: Is It Still Worth Buying in 2025?

With so many next-to-me cribs on the market, choosing the right one can feel a bit overwhelming. Between the SnuzPod, CoZee, and Tutti Bambini, we weren’t sure which was the best fit for our family.
But as someone who’s always on the hunt for a bargain, I ended up snazzing a SnuzPod 3 second-hand on Vinted for a fraction of the price—and honestly, I haven’t looked back.
Here's our honest experience with the SnuzPod 3, what we loved (and what we didn’t), and how it stacks up against the newer versions.
What Is the SnuzPod 3?
The SnuzPod 3 was the UK’s original bedside crib when it launched back in 2014. It’s designed to let your baby sleep safely right next to you, following NHS guidelines to keep your baby in the same room for at least the first six months.
Design
It’s got a clean, minimalist look and comes in a variety of colours. We personally love the natural wood finish, but there are bolder choices if you prefer a pop of colour in your nursery.
If you’re wondering about SnuzPod 3 dimensions, it measures approximately 100cm x 49cm x 95cm when fully assembled. That compact design was perfect for us, as I had limited space at my bedside.
How Does the SnuzPod 3Â Work?
The SnuzPod 3 in 1 bedside crib is designed to sit flush next to your bed. One side of the crib zips down, so your baby is right there beside you without the risks that come with full co-sleeping. This setup made night feeds, especially while breastfeeding, so much easier.
The tilt feature may also come in handy during those early weeks. Although reflux wasn't an issue for us, it was reassuring to know the Snuzpod 3 does tilt should the need arise.
Our Experience Using the SnuzPod 3
We genuinely loved using the SnuzPod 3 with our daughter, and we’re planning to use it again for baby number two. Having her right next to me at night was so comforting, especially with the side panel down. I could easily rest a hand on her chest to check her breathing, which I did a lot during those early, anxious newborn nights.
She was a summer baby, so it also made it easier to monitor her temperature. When she stirred for a feed or needed a nappy change, I could just lift her straight out—no awkward leaning or fumbling in the dark. If you're breastfeeding, you’ll especially love this convenience.
She settled beautifully in her SnuzPod 3. I think the snug, compact design helped her feel secure, and having me so close probably helped too. When she got a bit fussy, I’d just pat her gently back to sleep without having to fully get up. Once she started rolling, we zipped the side up again and it didn’t disturb her sleep at all.
How Long Can a Baby Stay in a SnuzPod 3?
Our daughter outgrew it at around seven months. She’s a fairly big baby, so some may get a little longer out of it, but it felt like the right time for us to move her into her own room.
What’s the Difference Between SnuzPod 3 and 4?
The biggest upgrade with the SnuzPod 4 is its ComfortAir breathable system, which includes mesh vents, a breathable liner, and a half-height wall for better airflow and temperature regulation—something particularly handy for warmer months.
Another key point in the SnuzPod 3 vs 4 debate is the height. The SnuzPod 4 fits taller beds up to 73cm, compared to 63cm for the SnuzPod 3. If you’ve got a higher bed frame, this could be a deal-breaker.
Is the SnuzPod 3Â Still Available to Buy?
Unfortunately, the SnuzPod 3 has now been discontinued, but if you're lucky, you might snag one on Vinted or Facebook Marketplace like we did. If you love the look and feel of it, we’d recommend checking out the newest rendition, the SnuzPod 5, which has similar styling with updated features and complies with the latest bedside crib safety standard BS EN 1130:2019. For a slightly more budget-friendly option, the SnuzPod Studio is also worth a look.
What About the SnuzPod 3 Mattress?
If you’ve bought a second-hand crib, you’ll definitely want a new mattress. Using a second-hand mattress can increase the risk of SIDS due to softening over time. We went for the SnuzPod 2 mattress, which is compatible with the SnuzPod 3 and available to buy online.
Just make sure you check the SnuzPod 3 mattress size to be sure it’s a good fit.
We also bought SnuzPod 3 sheets and a SnuzPod 3 mattress protector to keep everything clean and safe. If you're wondering about how to wash SnuzPod 3 accessories, most of the fabric parts (like the interior lining) zip off and are machine washable—though it’s worth checking the SnuzPod 3 manual or SnuzPod 3 instructions to be sure.
If your second-hand find is missing anything, you can find SnuzPod 3 replacement parts and SnuzPod 3 replacement fabric through Snuz or specialist retailers.
Final Thoughts: Is the SnuzPod 3Â Worth It?
Absolutely. If you can get one in good condition, the SnuzPod is a fantastic choice. It made those newborn nights feel a little bit easier—and when you’re sleep-deprived and overwhelmed, that’s worth a lot. It’s compact, cosy, stylish, and above all, practical.
So yes, SnuzPods are worth it—especially if you can find a gently used SnuzPod 3 for a bargain or upgrade to the latest technology of the Snuzpod 4 or 5.
